Drivers Have Performance Options With the 2012 Silverado 1500

Another great thing about Chevy’s 2012 pickup is the amount of options you have underneath the hood. The base engine for this full-sized pickup, which is available now in Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, and Anamosa, is a 4.3L V6 with a four-speed automatic transmission that produces 195 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque. This engine is offered only on Regular Cab models and 2WD Extended Cab models with a standard bed. While there are several other engine options available, the top option is a 6.2L V8 that produces 403 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque. This engine is available on Extended Cab and Crew Cab models and runs on a six-speed automatic transmission.
